Best drilled brake discs?

Featured Replies

Hey everybody, could anybody recommend a decent front drilled set of discs to go on a vRS fabia?

I've got the 312mm brake upgrade on and need new discs, so i thought i would use this opportunity to upgrade them?

The only problem with drilled discs is I have been told that are very prone to cracking and not worth buying. However I think Porsche fit them to their cars as standard, so some of them must be good.

Grooved and Dimpled ones are the way to go, (eg EBC TGDs) These have the advantages of Drilled i.e de-gassing the pads but do not cause any cracking. The alternative to EBCs are ZeroSixty discs sold by Awesome GTI (site sponsor on here).

I used Zimmerman drilled discs on my mk2 Golf and they were fine and didn't have any cracking issues. TBH in future I'm just going to stick with standard discs as I'm not sure you notice that the brakes are any better being drilled, certainly for road use. The only improvement you'd notice would be in looks.

Yes we are doing ZeroSixty at cracking prices just now

i never spotted this before, could do with replacing my back discs and pads.

quite fancy changing the fronts too but they have lasted well, still on the original discs and pads or at least since i've had the car and those brakes have taken a pounding with plenty life left in them :D

We have done a few of these with cracking results :)

My son runs them too with Tarox pads , his have made a huge improvement on the brakes....mind not that he had any to start with I think
