Quick! About to factory order a Yeti!

Featured Replies

The Yeti is appearing on my system for ordering, not sure if they've opened it for a short time so the press department can order a few cars or not!

Going to try and order 2. Only SE and Elegance are available.

What do you think Elegance TSi and SE TDi CR? Or the Elegance as a diesel?

Also the Elegance comes standard with leather, shall I go with dark exterior and ivory leather or the other way around?

I've ordered-

1.8TSi Elegance in Muscovado Metallic (like Mocca on the Superb I presume) with Gobi Leather (Ivory) with silver painted roof rails, columbus and floor mats.

2.0TDi 140CR SE in Aqua Blue with the Onyx interior floor mats, park assistant, and panoramic roof.

Both are the 4x4 variants and both should be here at the end of August.

Oh and I then decided that having 3 would be a good idea 1 demo, 1 showroom and then 1 stock unit to sell so I went for a 2.0CR 140 Elegance in Steel Grey with Black Leather with park assistant, mats and silver roof rails.

Im guessing the 'afterthought' may be the one that gets most interest tbh. I'd never buy a family car with a light interior.

Im going to be in the market for a decent spec one with either the 1.8TSi or 170TDI engine, not sure yet which though - Im still keeping an ear out for DPF issues with the new CR unit - this will be the deciding factor in fact for me.

James - does the Elegance get the panaramic roof as standard?

Thanks,

Lee

Well the one with the Ivory leather is going to be our demo as I like dark exteriors with light interiors.

The panaramic roof option isn't showing as an option on Elegance so I presume it's standard?

The prices aren't showing on there for the car or the options either so knowing my luck I've probably just ordered £60k worth of stuff and in my usual style in color combination that no one but me likes!

Also, the Yeti launch date is September 17th.

Dont get me wrong, I also love the look of the light interior with a dark exterior but for the family car it just wouldn't be practical.

Anthracite is looking like my fav paint colour currently.

Hi James

I notice neither of the TDIs are DSG. Skoda website says 140 willcome with DSG but the tech specs I've seen didn't show DSG except with the 1.2T

  • Author

No they aren't offering DSG on any of the Yetis at launch I imagine they will follow in the months after launch.

I'm pretty sure there will be a 140/170 TDi DSG variant available and a 1.2TSi and 1.8TSi DSG available eventually both with 7 speed DSG gearboxes. They haven't confirmed the 1.8TSi or the 170TDi DSG but eventually they'll be fitted to the car I'm sure.

What build weeks did you get?

I hope you're right on the Muscvado being similar to Mocca, because google brought this up

muscovado

which will look rank on a Yeti!

The TSi Elegance and the TDi Elegance are W33 and the TDI SE is W34. I presume yours are the same or there abouts?

I hope I haven't performed an 'epic phail' on the Muscovado front, I admit I did a google search for it to get an idea of what it would be like and I found a very informative article on Wiki about Barbados Sugar and this image...

Which with the Ivory or Gobi as it's now called, leather interior with silver roof rails it might look quite nice. But then again I am useless with colours.

I think it might be this colour-

Hi James,

good to hear that dealers are ordering the Yeti, like your choices; think the Muscovado Metallic will be OK, seen the image you have depicted previously, although the main Skoda site lists a Mato Brown metallic the image looks similar.

Just wondering if you have any info on the off-road kit (hill hold/decent & under-body protection), is it standard on the 4x4? If not, is it an option available on all 4x4 trim levels.

One final thing is there any other solid colour on the UK options besides the usual red or white, metallics are great but flat is more practical.

Will probable wait until next year before looking at the Yeti; like to see if they drop a 1.4TSI 4x4 into the line up when they get over the current supply problems, if not then 1.8TSI. Like the diesel economy but my previous Octi 1.8T 20V 4x4 was much smoother.:)

Regards.

This seems to be 'Mato Brown' in the Skoda-Auto.com catalogue as here;- http://new.skoda-auto.com/SiteCollectionDocuments/Catalogue/Yeti/Yeti_Catalogue_ENG.pdf

As usual UK seems to be a unique market as European spec Yeti have trim levels of (going upwards) Active, Ambition & Experience (leather an option not standard). It'll be great that UK Elegance get leather as standard.

If anyone's interested I was at Progress, Skoda in Letchworth today and they have ordered one of their Yeti in Muscoadavo (Mato) but its a 2.0L TDI CR 170 - :D;)

So the brochure I found, isn't the UK one! Wonder which market it's intended for? If it has the European specs, it's odd that it's in English. Still, at least it shows all the options, and performance data.

If you can place factory orders now, is there any indication yet of the UK prices??

The Owner's Manual seems to cover all the options, and gives some useful ideas of what the cockpit layout is like. Nice to see that there's a warning light to show when cruise control is in use, my Octavia hasn't got that and it's not always immediately obvious whether it's maintaining speed or not.

Generic Global market; local changes will apply.

Global (web) language. ;)

Confidential to dealers only at this stage I would imagine; if even they know, which perhaps they don't yet.

was your cruise OE fit or added later? If OE I'd expect there to be a warning light (although you don't get it on Fabia/Roomster).

I can assure you they haven't. They've ordered a 140CR.

The early/draft handbook predominantly covers the 1.8 & TDI 140; so I would take it that these will be the first on the market and possible hints at three trim levels.

Whether we get all three trims is another question, James mentioned ordering an SE and Elegance which already differs from elsewhere and leather as standard indicates a 'bells & whistles' rather than a safety & practicality approach to UK trim.

Off topic reply to bahnstormer vrs:

My cruise control is OE, fitted to my 2006 Octavia L&K 2.0TDI 140.

Chris

I can assure you they haven't. They've ordered a 140CR.

So who's been taking a sneeky look at the SUK order book? and who's therefore telling porkies? ;) Hmm.

I would think that the dealer in Letchworth hasn't read the system correctly.

Insofar as that the 170CR isnt availible to order yet?

No; likely James has taken a peek at the Skoda online dealer order 'book' and seen the true picture.

Insofar as that the 170CR isnt availible to order yet?

Correct, can't even order it in CZ yet!

  • Author

Duncan is correct.

No one can order the 2.0 170CR engined Yeti at the moment, nor can we order any form of DSG or the 1.2TSi engine.

Is the 2.0 TDI 110 4x4 available to order yet?

  • Author

Nope, only diesel available is the 140BHP Commonrail engine in either SE or Elegance trim.
