Hi there

Featured Replies

Hi, my first post on here. I currently own a Renaultsport Clio 182, looking to sell for a fabia vrs. Want to get a mortgage soon and need to save on fuel, tax and insurance! Also I'm fed up of having to rev to 5000rpm to get the power. The torque from the vrs looks great, performance and economy is what I need! Not sure if I'm supposed to post this here but I've seen a black vrs on autotrader for £5250. The alloys on it look different to usual the usual vrs. Just wondering if anybody knew if they look as though they'll fit the 205/45 r16 tyre. Don't want to mess with the usual set up. Thanks. Stan

Welcome :)

Hello! :wave23d:

Welcome Stan. The Clio 182 was one of the many cars I test drove when I got my Fabia VRS. The Clio was a cracking car, loads of character but the VRS was cheap as chips so I went for Skoda. The VRS might not be as quick off the mark but the in gear grunt is like nothing else, it does take time to adjust after a high reving petrol engine, but 50mpg (and still over 40mpg when pressing on), cheap tax and cheaper insurance are all welcome. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Thanks for all the, welcomes, much appreciated! petevrs, you seem to know your fabia vrs's. Would you mind having a look at this black vrs on autotrader, its the only one going for £5250. Mileage is good for the year, but those alloys don't look like any other fabia vrs I've seen. What do you think? Anyone else help me out? Thanks. Stan

Hello and welcome Stan :wavey:

As for the alloys on the Fabia your looking at, to me it looks like the owner got them from Wheelbase because they do the Golf style alloys with the Toyo proxes 4 tryes. So i'm fairly sure they will be ok. Only going by the info they gave me when i got mine, but i aint no expert. Looks alright to me though. Good luck

Thanks stug. Have you got a fabia vrs then? I just don't want to buy one that has a different setup than standard. I think the alloys look good but if its got a lower profile tyre than usual then I can see it affecting the car. Tough decision, its a long drive to see it, about 5 hours, but all the others I've seen have higher mileage AND more money! Thanks for looking again stug. Stan

No prob Stan :D.

No i have a Octy 1.8t elegance but i've just got RS4 style alloys for mine from Wheelbase and i'm pretty sure they wouldn't supply wheels that would mess up the rolling radious. Mine are fine, but like i said i aint no expert :o

I'm looking at a fabia vrs in black, done 40,000 miles for £5250, good price i think. All my family and my girlfriend don't like the look of it and hate the fact its a skoda! I know its not the best looking but the performance, torque and economy make up for it don't you think? I was thinking of getting an Astra 1.9 cdti 150 but there still expensive to buy, more on insurance, more on running costs. But even though the fabia vrs has 20bhp less it has the same torque. What do you guys think of it all? Thanks. Stan
