I've got a octy glx 1.9tdi 90.

When driving I had the A/C and the recycled air on, when I parked up I left the buttons to ON, and just turned the ignition off.

I noticed the light was still on, on the recycled air button and a strange werring noise was coming from the left side of the car behind the dash.

So I turned it off, and it stopped.

just to check I pressed the switch again and it did the same thing.

Why is this working with the igniton key out?

The werring noise didn't sound right, anyone heard of anything strange going on with the rc/air?

Try a search on this Octy I forum for "re-circ air flap motor", they are a common problem, but quite easy to get to and fix.

I'm not sure why you would drive with a/c and recirc both on? I'd agree that the problem is most likely the flap motor.
