Going down to Newquay from Gorseinon on Monday so will be filling the car and was wondering how much the tank will hold and how much extra with the expansion tank. When it comes to filling the expansion tank is there any trick to it as I've never really tried it properly before. I know you push that button and it makes a hiss and then you put more in. I want to know how much it holds in total just so I dont over fill.

Really? I though diesel didn't expand that much?

Google tells me it's a 464-mile round-trip, which means you should just-about be able to do it on a tank, if you take it gently...

(But it's not as though there are no filling stations between the two! )

I routinely do over 400 miles a week commuting these days, and never have to break from my habitual fill-up-when-I-do-the-shopping routine...

Should be able to do that easilly on a full tank!

I filled my car to the brim including expansion tank before driving to nurburgring which was 500 miles for us. Got there and the fuel gauge was between a quarter and half a tank. Bargain!

As Kev says, a 464 mile round trip would easily be doable on a "normal" full tank, let alone a full tank with additional venting. I reckon if you did a steady 70mph all the time, you'd be able to get ack to Newquay again before filling up!!
