Octavia drivers door problem

Featured Replies

I have experienced a common problem with my Octavia if this forum is anything to go by. The drivers door lock will not lock with the remote key, but all other doors do work off the remote. Neither does the driver door mirror work.

A local garage (not Skoda dealer) have replaced the door control and checked out all feeds to ensure no wiring loom problems and all feeds to the door unit were live. But all to no avail – the problem still persists.

The garage believe the electronics now need coding to get it up and running. Any views?

I have exactly the same problem at the moment, even the mirrors not working. Have been told by the garage that sold car to me that the central locking wiring loom has suffered from corrosion and needs to be replaced (costs in the region of £400+ for parts, so i was told) but getting it done under my 3 month warranty. They tried a repair with a new loom last week, but couldn't get it too work, they decided new loom was faulty, hence back in today to try another one. Will keep you posted if sucessfull.

the door control module shouldn't need to be coded - it should simply be a "plug & play item.

If it still isn't working that suggests one of the pins is still corroded (apparently the bottom red one is the usual culprit). I have exactly the same problem with mine but at the moment I can't be ars*d to take the bloody door card off yet again...

Thanks Mikey

Earlier threads indicate that its ofetn a broken wire or corroded pin that causes the problem. Will be interested to see if a new loom sorts it.

Got my car back from the garage today but the usless c***s didn't have the replacement wiring loom, just done the other work required which was replacing the front ARB bushes & fixed the radiator bottom mounts, so will need to wait untill next week now to get central locking problem fixed.

I've just had a similar problem with my Octavia, albeit the passenger door. Checked all the usual stuff ..... wiring, connectors, looms from advice on here.

I've solved the problem now .... replaced the door lock assembly (£102.40 inc VAT from the dealers )
