I read somewhere that it's pretty tricky to retro fit bonnet struts/lifters on a vRS.

Is this only certain makes of struts or is it all of them?

Has anyone used any they can advise me to buy?

they are a piece of p i s s to fit mate, i bought some off ebay a while back for about £2o inc P&P, the only thing you have to do is file a little bit off the bonnet end of the lifter so they open without bending

If you get the lifter kit that Mark has mentioned of Ebay, you could always then fit the Fabia tailgate struts to fit with the ball studs from the Ebay kits.

I have some spare fabia hatch struts. 2nd hand though so very slightly marked in places.

I bought the ebay lifters kit, I fitted the ball studs that came in this kit by drilling & tapping a hole more horizontal between the torx screws on the bonnet hinge instead of fitting the ball stud in place of a torx screw & filing the bonnet strut cups to allow It to operate.

Doing It this way has allowed me to fit the Fabia strut. You only need one Fabia strut to do the job & Is more powerful than both the ebay struts together. Two Fabia struts & you can't close the bonnet:D
