Which do you prefer? Silver or Anthracite?

Featured Replies

I am really toying with the idea of anthracite wheels on my black VRS .

Opinions please!!

Look nice and will hide the brake dust :)

Go for matte black.

Looks suitably evil...

Well the experiment has started

Sanded the spare wheel, cleaned, taped and ready for priming but rain has stopped play :thumbdwn:

I've been toying with this very idea for a while now. The only thing stopping me is that when the OEM alloys are clean, they look great. I also reckon that any other colour than the original makes the wheels look smaller. I did think about spraying the inserts black and did a crappy photoshop a couple of years back. All I did was shade in the inserts and left the spokes original. On this photo I'm sure it makes the wheels look bigger.

Anthracite wheels just look dirty all the time :(

These are mine after getting them refurbed not as dark as anthricite and got a subtle glitter put through the laquer so they sparkle in the sun.

I prefer the silver finish of some aftermarket alloys. Some companies call it high power silver others call it race silver. Basically more of a metal looking silver than a painted silver if that makes any sense whatsoever :o

Got to admit I've really gone off dark alloys unless its on a white car.
