Central locking kit (BFC 400 101)

Featured Replies

Any classic owners used this kit?

I have an sdi classic which has manual locking on each door and it's a REAL pain in the ****, I keep forgetting to lock the rear doors and have ripped out half of my nails trying to open locked doors!

Does this kit enable me to turn my manual locking into key operated central locking?

It's a proper like Skoda accessory so course it will fit. Probably doesn't include the wiring which you will have to do and will be time consuming but if you have many hours spare then give it a go. You can be the 'Guinea Pig' on this one and we expect a 'how to' with lots of nice pictures.

Not sure if its any good, or easy to fit - but at a guess it will be cheaper than the Skoda one, and is another option if nothing else.

Hi

I had the Skoda kit dealer fitted on a 2002 estate I used to have.

Worked well, only point was the separate "plipper" rather than combined with the key

Could the remotes be combined on a new standard VW key? More money of course but I thought I'll ask out of interest.

Yes it is.

The guides are attached as .pdf files. I take NO credit for these as they were done by another member in another thread I can no longer find. The key megring one is under 'keyf'.

Thanks for all the replies.

I am very tempted to get the skoda part purely because the stuff is designed to fit, I'm not that interested in the remote controlled system after witnessing an incident with a mate and his smart roadster;

He took nearly an hour to work out why his boot kept springing open when he was in the house, infuriatingly it always happened after he'd sat down ... this little drama was the stuff of silent movies. I almost choked trying to smother my laughter.

He eventually worked it out for himself and took the keys out of his pocket!

I'd be interested in retrofitting remote locking, my fabia already has central locking, any idea how much work is required to fit the remote locking?

Look at the guide in my post above. A step by step photograhped guide on how to add it. Looks pretty easy really, I just haven't had the time to do it yet.

The second pdf is on how to add it, the top one is how to merge the old key into the flip style fob.
