How come an Inner CV Joint is so hard to get for a vRS?

Featured Replies

After my barrier incident I needed a few parts. These included a strut, bottom arm, other bits and pieces, a wing and the inner CV Joint which had completely shattered.

Managed to get all the other parts easy enough from TPS in Swansea but they can't get the CV Joint until late next week. Rang Skoda and they said if TPS can't get it then nobody can.

Been to places like GSF and they don't even do the part. So has anyone got any ideas where I can get one?

Anyone?

Have you tried any of the re-conditioning places on an exchange or is yours way past any exchange?

Or maybe a Skoda Breakers for a low mileage one if it's urgent? Skospares or Skoda Parts?

Try a couple of dealers... ya never know, I was shocked when my dealer had the bit of trim of the passenger door that the window button clips into just on there shelf!

We tried Skoda in Swansea and they said if TPS can't get it then nobody can. Pontypridd is the next nearest and they keep very little in stock.

Mine is way past a repair. The bearings were on the under tray when we took it off!

Man, that's wrecked! Feel for ya!

APD?

Euro Car Parts?

Some parts don't fail that often, so stocks of inner CV joint will generally always be minimal. Garages and parts suppliers will be keeping minimal stocks just now to improve their bank balance.

Doesn't help you I know, but it's quite common with most car parts across the entire manufacturers spectrum.

Just like to add you made a proper job of wrecking that one

To be honest overall I was very lucky. Whole side will need a spray but there is minimal denting. Doors are perfect for respraying. Only thing that's bad is the wing and the rear quarter which is easily repairable. I was just lucky that there was no chassis damage.
