vRS / LPG / what plugs??

Featured Replies

what spark plugs should I buy, seen some on e bay for LPG converted cars but you never know if there just normal ones but hyped up to make you buy them.

car is a 2004 vRS, not had a service indicator but it's been 10k since the last (dealer) service so though i'd get them and a few other jobs done.

Bosch Super 4's are recommended for LPG 1.8T's and mines been mapped as well. HTH. Generally used to go 1 level colder as well but would depend on your LPG system. Do you not have contact with the fitter that installed it?

are you running a lpg system and a re mapped car??

Yep. and enjoying every minute of it, Mine is a 4x4 as well so lots of fun and lower running costs than the wifes passat TDi

what map have you got?

I'm keen to get mine done but wasn't sure about how it would work with the lpg...

must admit I do like the conversion, 30mpg at £2ish a gallon is easily achievable without driving like miss daisy!!

I have an E-gas system but I opted to have the ODB control fitted so the LPG is self learning so it would be OK when remapped. The remap was a £99 postal one with ECU Evolution (they were based in Newport at the time so I took the ECU to them rather than trust Royal Mail and collected the following day) They could have done it while I waited but John(the guy from DNA Tuning that does the maps and tweaks) had finished for the day.

mines an e gas system also, well the LPG dispaly says e gas!

I'll have to hope it has the OBD control fitted as I do plan on a re map one day, once I get the rattles sorted anyway...

chipboost aren't that far away from me so maybe a run out in the future

and thanks for the help with the plugs :)
