It just occurred to me today. My car is a Mk1 on an 06 plate. However, it wasn't built in 2006 I am assuming and therefore will probably be in need of a timing belt sooner rather than later.

How can I tell when the car was made to get this sorted?

Timing belt and water pump should be done after four years - so it'll be about due.

That's what I thought Rob. I was just wondering though if it was four years from date of manufacture, or four years from when the car started being used?

I wouldn't risk it for too long if I were you - get it done soon.
