Bulb Warning Light when Lighting Board Fitted

Featured Replies

Had my Octy II 1.9 Ambient Estate since Feb [bought new]. Bought it with factory fitted towbar and single electrics as I have a towbar mounted bike carrier [Thule] with the normal lights.

I've not been on the bike due to injury since I bought the car, until this weekend, so plugged in the bike carrier to the electrics.

The bulb warning light is on all the time the carrier is plugged in [even with no lights on]. I have checked all the lights on both the car and carrier and they seem to be working OK. When the carrier is unplugged the warning light goes out.

From reading the manual I don't think this is normal. I've searched the forum and can't find the same problem. I don't have the maxi dot display to give more detailed info.

Any suggestion on what to do?

Thanks

Certainly not normal. mine works normally with both trailer and trailer board!

Bulb failure light should be off, but will come on if a light on the car OR trailer fails.

I've been having some fun with this; one of the (many) rear side-lights blew the day the tow bar was fitted which led to some fault-finding. Yesterday (after using the trailer for the first time in a few weeks) the car decided one one of the front side lights had blown. On investigation it appears that the car just thought it had blown, and turned it off! Removing everything and re-inserting it made it work again. Of course, how long before it goes for good is anyone's guess. It may just be coincidence that the sidelights go just after using the trailer...
