Handheld Scanner fault codes

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Im going to be selling the VRS soon and as luck would have it the Engine light popped on the otherday. i bought a scanner (handheld one ebay) and it has given me the following fault codes

01314

17705

16486

17524

17511

some of these arent listed in the manual can anyone help??

I just need to fix the problems so i can sell the car.

Cheers Matt

16486 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit - Low input

17705 Connection turbocharger - throttle valve pressure hose

17524 O2 Sensor Heater Circ.,Bank1-Sensor1 Open

17511 O2 Sensor Heating Circ.,Bank1-Sensor1 Output too Low

If your FCR has a fault clear facility, clear faults and test drive to see if they come back.

if its the blue vag one of ebay it will aslo clear the codes follow what moggy said clear and test drive car and see if returns..

Is this the correct 02 sensor?? http://www.gendan.co.uk/oxygen_lambda_sensors_Skoda_Octavia_1.8i.html

Edited by matbmx100

Should be one of these:

Octavia 1.8i Turbo 20v 180bhp AUQ

10/2004 onward

£ 97.82

In stock

Octavia 1.8i Turbo 20v 180bhp AUQ

(2 Wheel Drive only) 12/2000 to 9/2004

£ 97.82

In stock

They look to be cheaper than the dealer price, though one from Skoda will have a two year warranty.

throttle body clean should help with the idle and 17705 - also need to check the hoses for leaks.

sometimes cleaning the contacts on the maf can help.

Cheers for the replys guys. One question everone always says check the hoses for leaks seen as i dont know much about these engines could someone post a picture up showing which ones??

Ill clean the throttlebody and see if that helps at all

Cheers

Right ive cleaned the throttle body and got that nice and shiny but cars still the same.

Think the MAF and that 02 sensor need replacing.
