How tough are the Fabia Vrs oem speakers

Featured Replies

Hiya All,,

Ive just installed a nice new ipod friendly JVC Head unit in my FabiaVrs, and this thing kicks out a lot more volume and bass than the original symphony unit. I was wondering how far I could take it before the standard speakers give up.

Si

I suggest a test, just crank it and see what happens. good excuse to go shopping if they blow!

Fitting aftermarket speakers in the fabias' doors is a bit of a bugger though, isn't it? Don't you have to fabricate spacers or something? :)

I've been running 30wrms through the OEM speakers for about a year no and no problems no far.

Yeah, the OEM stuff isn't too bad in the Fabia. I've been running mine off the Becker for some time now and they still fine. Still need to get off my bum and get all my good stuff fitted but the spacer thing is putting me off at the moment. That and the fact that I've lost my bit of cable and fuse holder that I ordered to connect the power up!

Its been a week with my new HU and I have to say that the oem speakers are holding up really well. Very very impressed.

Vibe just released a set of speakers with very minimal mounting depth, alleviates the need for spacers.

IIRC most headunits will be outputting between 18 and 25wrms per channel.

These

Seen these in the flesh, Damned nice they are too, Shame they'll spend their life behind a door card.

Though a spacer or mounting adaptor may still be required!
