Mk 1 vRS spare part numbers - help required!

Featured Replies

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with some part numbers for the Mk1 Octavia vRS. I generally use a VW dealer for bits over the local Skoda guys and, whilst their service is good, I generally find it easier if I can give them the proper part numbers when ordering bits in. I have the prices already (from Skoda) but what I'm after the numbers for is as follows:

-Front LHS (passenger) Damper

-Fronr RHS (Drivers) Damper

-Rear LHS (passenger) Damper

-Rear RHS (Drivers) Damper

-Rear LHS (passenger) plastic trim that the parcel shelf sits on and the rear speaker bolts to from underneath.

-Plastic Boot trim

-Wheel centre caps

-Front Mud flaps

If anybody can help with these numbers it would be much appreciated!

thanks

Wow, why are you buying Skoda dampers? Are they not stupidly expensive? I paid £75 for one front spring!

Would have thought you'd be better off getting FSD's.

No idea on the P/N's I'm afraid....

I doubt they'll be hugely expensive as the fronts are only £100 and they are have the additional mounts for the drop links on them in addition to the different damping rates to the normal units. I'm not sure that I'm going to do them all at the same time but the back ones definitely need done. If I do them all then i'll decide whether to go OEM or aftermarket but if I was to go non-OEM then then I'll go for Koni adjustables rather than the FSD's. In all likelihood the fronts will get done at a later date as £35-40 each for OEM rears vs £420+ for a full set of aftermarket ones is a bit of a no brainer, especially if I do end up selling it as has been running through my head recently.

If you give a chance I can get those for you later, iI'm leaving work soon, but can have a look for you later at home.

That'd be awesome, thanks!

Would you consider 2nd hand stuff? All mine is coming off as soon as the Weitec's arrive.

Also i am guessing the trim panel where your shelf sits on the stopper bit has snapped off? mines like that too.

Thanks for the offer but with suspension parts (well, dampers anyway) I would only replace with new; whether that be OEM or aftermarket.

My parcel shelf tab has indeed snapped off. Something to do with it having a stealth shelf that's constantly in and out for carrying stuff I suspect. I'll get a new one and then reinforce it before fitting I think. They're only £23 from a dealer anyway so not a great cost.

For those interested, OEM vRS dampers work out as £103ea on the front and £55ea on the back. I suspect what I might do now is consider the Koni adjustables straight off on the back as I can get them for very little extra. That would leave me free to up the damping and compensate for the greater weight I'm usually carrying. I'll probably fit some different bumpstops while i'm at it.
