Jammed window

Featured Replies

The O/S rear electic passenger window on my 2000 Octavia Estate got jammed yesterday after clipping on a sun screen from Halfords. The screen has two clips which clip over the top of the window. Unfortunately my passenger closed the window fully and consequently sjammed the window. I have managed to r cut out the screen but window remains jammed and no noise from motor.

Any ideas please ?

My best guess would be too strip the door down and have a look. As in releasig the window from the bottom and pulling it down.

Ball ache, but its the only way I reckon.

My thoughts exactly - unfortunately. How difficult is it to take the door trim off ?

First check the other windows. If none of them work then you may a blown a fuse (this should not be the case).

If the window is still jammed, then the motor will shut off immediately and you won't hear anything.

Can you see the top of the glass when you look down the window seal? If not press the window down button and try and move the window into the correct position.

If that doesn't work, you will need to remove the door card. If you search on here you will find instructions.

Thanks for that. Other windows working normally. Jammed window has approx 3mm gap at top. I will try moving window with someone else operating down switch at same time. Have to do this later as wife gone shopping !

Yeah, open the door and use a hand on each side of the glass and push down whilst the wife hits the switch.

Ring the wife and tell her it's urgent :rotz::rotz:
