should i be worried??

Featured Replies

I can't see this in the search, so sorry if I'm repeating an old question but I have just noticed that when I bought the car last month, the garage serviced my car and put it on a fixed service schedule-they have ticked its not on long life oil in the service book? I thought the only oil for the octavia vrs pdtdi was the 507 due to the DPF and no other oil is specified in the manual? What oil might they have put in it, should they have done it, is it bad for my car and should I be shouting at them:confused:

Was it a Skoda dealership? As far as I am aware there should only be long life oil used in the the PD170 for the reasons you have stated above.

They also shouldn't have put the car onto fixed servicing without your agreement - very naughty!

I wouldn't be happy if I were you :thumbdwn:

If a dealer changed you to fixed without your say so I would kick off royally.

If an independent, then resetting the counter without VCDS would revert it to fixed regeime.

yes it was a skoda dealership and they told me all their cars are put on a fixed service, which to be honest, with the driving i do, it's probably better than variable. That still leaves me worried that they have put the wrong oil in so i'll be on to them tomorrow:eek:
