nearside rear door not working

Featured Replies

On a 2002 octavia hatchback the nearside rear door lock has gone on to deadlock. I've reomved the lock and fitted a new one but now nothing is working on the nearside rear door. I've checked measure blocks and it will show the difference between locked and unlocked when you do this manually but it refuses to work with the remote or drivers door switch. I've looked at the wiring and this all appears to be good and I've even gone and tried another door control unit and a convenience ecu but with no luck. All other doors work properly and the window works fine in the nearside rear door it's just the locking part that doesn't.

Anybody got any ideas on this one please?

Have you checked the wiring where it goes into the door post?

Hi

Yes I have I have even swapped the complete wiring loom from the offside door to make sure there was nothing I couldn't see. I've even tried wiring it up myself so make sure all the wires going to the B pillar are good by wiring it up from the drivers door but still no good. If I wire it up from the solenoid from the offside rear using just the two wires for the solenoid motor then all works fine. Problem is these wires come from the ecu in the door and are known not to be broken. Going down the thought that is has a canbus signal issue somewhere.

Had this issue recently and the central locking went mental shortly after so disconnected the battery over night, this seemed to cure it but no guarentees
