Wiring Diagrams

Featured Replies

Hi.

I'm trying to fault find an electrical fault on my 2001 Octavia L & K and i'm struggling a bit without wiring diagrams. I need to look at them to try and figure out how the brake light could be turning the offside sidelight on!

I remember with my old Audi there was an application that had all of the diagrams etc on. Is there such a thing for skoda?

Thanks

The Haynes Manual has all the wiring diagrams but in your case it more likely to be related to the computer control inputs (which switches the bulbs via computer outputs). Look for water in connectors and frayed wiring insulation. A corroded earth connection is also a lesser possibility.

It's probably a poor earth connection at or near the rear lamp units.

:( Have you changed the bulbs lately as you could be shorting from the brake side of the bulb to the sidelight connection ? cheers - Stuart.

The wiring diagrams are indicative and show "typical" wiring rather than being specific to a certain model and trim level. I found them hard enough to follow on my old mini let alone the rats nest of cable in a modern car.

Though I agree it is most likely to be caused be water or frayed wires.
