New undertray question

Featured Replies

My undertray has come loose (probably down to Powerflex dogbone vibration) and is making a proper racket over harsh bumps and I can't get the car up to have a look so for the sake of £17 I'm thinking just get a new one in case the clips/screws/bolts are broken. But does anyone know if a new undertray from the stealers comes with all the bolts or do I have to get these separately?

And I'm assuming it's an easy job to fit so a garage can do it while I'm getting new tyres fitted?

Thanks

Iirc theay are separate

Thanks mate. I'll give them a ring and get them ordered

Just had mine done at the dealers, they provided the screws for no extra charge. If you just order the part you will not get the fixings.

My LH side undertray has been missing since I bought the car, is it needed?

could you put the part numbers up here when you collect the parts as i need one and the price

thanks Tom

IIRC you can get the screws and little metals doobrys from halfords, be a bit cheaper than just buying a new underttray unless it's damaged. My car has about four different types of screws holding the tray on.

Just to ressurect this again – from the pic posted by Fatty5000, is the top pic the front tray, and the bottom pic the back?

I had the car up on a jack on Saturday when getting my new Kumhos fitted :D and everything looks attached, but the front tray only seems to be half a tray as per the top pic, so what's making the 'crashing' noise over potholes?

The whole bumper and undertray system doesn't seem very solid anyway so I might be missing something? Has anyone else experienced crashy plastic noises over potholes?

Which side is it coming from?

If it's not the undertray it might be one of the wheelarch liners is loose, or one of the two plastic splashguards either side of the engine block, or if coming from the front drivers side it could be the plastic air channel guide in front of the intercooler

Thanks mate. To be honest the whole thing from wheel liner to wheel liner seems a bit shoddy. I'd never noticed before but it's all just chunks of rubbish plastic bolted together. Something's not right though because it's a relatively recent thing.

I need to get it up again (oops, pardon misses) to check it all properly.

Ah well, back to the drawing board :(
