full throttle hesitation on VRS 170 diesel

Featured Replies

Hi all,

just bought a 2007 VRS diesel estate.

it appears to have an intermittant hesitation under full throttle at high revs.

for example on a main road accelerating through the gears, flat in 3rd or 4th at 3k plus revs it appears to lose power for a second before regaining again.

any ideas?

thanks.

That sounds like what happened to my Leon just before the DPF light came on. I imagine it will be something to do with that. Sometimes worth driving around in 2nd or 3rd at quite high revs to help burn off the excess. Do you do a lot of miles or mainly short trips?

I've had that on mine. I think it's just a trait of the 26E6 update mapping. As long as it's only very occasional I don't think I'd worry about it.

I've just bought the car on saturday, so no details on last owners driving habits.

the car has been in a garage for the last several months so probably not seen much use.
