Wheel spacers

Featured Replies

Does anyone have wheel spacers fitted to their Octavia I? My mate has a mk4 Golf with 8x18s on it and he fitted some 15mm spcaers to it recently.

They have transformed the look of the car, it looks alot more aggressive from all angles now. It hasn't made a difference to the handling either.

I'm thinking of doing the same to my vRS but I'd love to see a vRS with this modification before I shell out.

I await your grilling :D

I want to know the same, seen the forge spacers that seem reasonable, might add them.

The golf needs spacers as they have more room under the arches.

I wouldn't put spacers on unless you really have to i.e.big brakes

Depending on your wheels ET will depend on how far out the wheel stands.

I had a bad experience with a car that had spaces fitted it will but more strain on the bearing etc. and it may also alter the handling.

Also you can't go out to far as it will catch.

Of all the people on here Jay, your the one I didn't want to see this :D

I knew you'd give me a *******ing haha!

Consider that idea shelved, I just want to toughen it up....

I suspect your wheels will be around ET38 so if you put even 10mm spacers on it will catch the arches unless you rise your ride height, which will look sh!t.

Haha that simplifies things, thanks mate :)

On to plan B then... What plan B is I don't know!

When I bought my car didnt realise it had 5mm spacers (only on the rear).

Wheels are still within the arches and no rubbing has ever happened. The suspension (coils / shocks) are standard apart from Whiteline rarb.

Does it change handling ?, havnt a clue.

Peter

NB: Tyres / Alloys are also standard

With the prices of decent spacers as high as they are, you may aswell save your cash for some lower offset wheels!

I've considered this before too, but like Jay, the idea of extra loads on the bearings put me off.
