I have a 2007 VRS estate diesel. how do i tell if its PD or CR?

It seems to have a good spread of power arcross the rev range and is quiet at a cruise, but loud at idle and startup.

how I can be sure which it is?

It's a PD. The CR was introduced in June 2008.

Seconded. I've got the same engine. It doesn't get any quieter at start/idle/low revs as it gets older (mine's got 25k on it now and still rattles like a bowling ball in a cement mixer!)

Good car though...!
