Has anyone put a columbus in an LE and got the Maxi dot working?

I had my car up at Unit 18 today having the OEM Bluetooth fitted, and Poor Ali spent ages trying to get the coding right and it just wouldn't work. VCDS could see the unit, but the audio and Navigation options on maxi dot just show blank (Well the Nav option just displays "Skoda navigation"). In addition although the phone system plays through the Columbus, no other phone options show up on the Columbus.

We had exactly the same problem on SkippyVrs's bolero in his VRS LE.

Any ideas before we both go completely nuts.

CAN Gateway version/coding? (just thinking out loud!)

Do you know the part no of the Maxidot? I have a very late VRs Maxidot in mine and it works ok.

Keith, don't know the part no of the Maxi dot, but it's definitely the FL version. As for the Can Gateway I should have thought it would be quite a late model. I take it yours isn't a LE? Simbo, I took the opportunity to check the Columbus while it was out and one good thing is that the seals were intact, so the Firmware upgrade is a safer possibility. (I hope)

Really wish I had VCDS so I wouldn't have wasted so much of Alistair's time.

Sorry to hear about this Martin. I'm slightly worried myself now as I have a 'D' type OEM BT unit and my Columbus is due to be sent from Czech Rep any day soon. I have specifically asked for a 1Z0 unit thinking this was the one for an Octavia.

There might be a miscommunication between gateway (19) and the Columbus.

Or, first things first, check if the connections are really all working. Had this a couple of times, because I am having extra connectors for my EMFA. These didnt work right and caused the RNS not to show on the maxidot.

If all connectors are right, than there can be a miscommunication between gateway and Columbus. I have this problem when running fw 2660 on my RNS with my current rev H gateway.

Does VCDS give other fault codes?

Don't believe it was giving any fault codes. You could see the columbus in VCDS it just doesn't display on the Maxi dot. Alistair tried Enabling and disabling BAP but it had no effect. Will try and find someone with VCDS in the area that could have another look I think.
