Dension 300 / Columbus Probs

Featured Replies

Just fitted the Dension Gateway 300 to my Columbus 1Z0 035 680 A and am having "issues". Basically no matter what I do I can't get the unit to work in anything other than ipod UI mode and even that is not reliable.

Anybody got any ideas??

Use the proper MDI interface instead?

Get the proper MDI kit, much better than the dension and gives full and proper control of the ipod from the columbus. There is one forsale in our items for sale section.

Guys this should work as proved by Shark_90 and as I've just coughed up £160 for this I'm not about to give up on it just yet.

You could have got the MDI for less than £100,

You may have a compatibility problem between the dension and the ipod, especially if its a newer one.

Or

The columbus needs coding to say that a CD changer is present, then you will get very basic functionality via the columbus in CD mode.

Tried two different pods and you may be right - the columbus hasn't been vag-com'd as yet so that could be the issue.
