Been reading many threads and the Connect2 CTASKIPOD001 seems to be recommended for the Symphony (Fabia vrs).

Going to their site and looking at the Compatibility Chart, it implies the extra CTIPOD-CONVERTER is needed for charging the iPod Classic (1.0.3PC is written under the picture). This is an extra £25. It's for my son's car (pressy) and his is the 60Gb Classic iPod bought last year.

I would be grateful if anyone with this model could tell me if the extra bit of kit is needed.

I've checked with the tech guys of Connect2 and it is needed for the Classic and a couple of other versions. The price of the charging adaptor is not £25 as on their site but is only £15. By asking their advice, they recommended one of their traders and I'm getting the Connect2 + charging adaptor for a good price - better than their own price.

I visited a number of web sites advertising the Connect2 for the ipod and they usually say it recharges iPods - which is wrong in some cases.

'Dice' make a version which does not need a charging adaptor but their price with postage is over £100
