Its been a long but finally its almost here. Leaving at 9am to travel from Warrington to R-TECH in Leicestershire.

Keep your eyes open for some feedback towards the end of the week, including rolling road results.

It's a great thing to take the car out after a map for the first time. Enjoy.

The remaps done and first impressions are very good. The difference is really noticable as I expected.

The car was 182bhp stock on the RR and 207bhp after remap and some tweaking by the guys at r-tech. The car was struggling towards the top end and Nick wasnt happy with letting the car go without finding out what was causing this.

A couple of hours was spent by Nick and staff making sure all the pipes and components were checked for leaks and various diagnostic tests done, including ignition timing and Nick informed me the problem was due to the tank of cheap morrisons petrol, pinking in the engine. So when this tank runs out I'm going to run a few tanks of optimax and do a more thorough write up and load the RR prints up.

youll notice mate, shame you couldnt get it mapped on ron 98/99, makes more of a diff then, I had mine done on V Power and after tryin 95 again on the odd ocasion I can actually tey you what I am runnin on, the GF doesnt beleive me so I said to her to take it and put smoe fuel in and Ill tell her what it is lol.

youll find the car reacts better wi 98/99 in mate, youll see when you do it. also try sainsburys 97, thats good all rounder for me, good eco and nice drive too. Ive worked it out that I am gettin the same £ per mile on tesco 99 as I am with 95 lol.

Does that mean that your car would have made more than 182bhp if you'd used decent fuel? If so, then you must have a healthy engine there..

I guess that 25bhp increase is pretty good and means that the extra oomph from good fuel (98/99 ron) will take you to just over 210bhp on a good day.

As a reference, my vRS made 188bhp / 199lbs-ft on V-Power

had mine yesterday at ptorque in wolves got

182 hp standard

179 lbs/ft standard

then stage 1 map

214.9 hp

231.5 lb/ft

Same here although my torque figures never been that high, 179 ft/lb at most

Gearing plays a big part with the RR results, imo a power run should be carried out as close to a 1:1 ratio, gear down you will get higher torque reading.

Well, it's my understanding that this is how they do it there, so that every car there can be compared.

Everyone did seem to think it was a little high, and other Mk1's were coming out closer to stock figures?

Just spoke to Al at Awesome, said they do their runs in 4th

I think all rolling roads do runs one gear lower than the top gear i.e. 4th
