Esp abs

Featured Replies

Hello im new here and require help with my 006 octavia whilst driving recently my ESP light came on also the dash warning picture came on I took it to the dealers who told me there is a fault with the esp/abs unit and the unit will need to be totally replaced at a cost of £1400 as my car is about 5 months out of warranty I think that this is a bit steep. have any other members had the same problem, the only differance in my driving style is that I now travel from the midlands to the Great Yarmouth area about twice every 10 days. please help £1400 is a lot of money.:eek::eek::eek:

there's a few on here, I'm one, mine is going in thursday,

mine is a 55 plate vrs, mine is 10 months out of warranty and skoda are paying 40% of the bill, but because its going in under warranty work then its a reduced labour/part rate, leaving me with about £550-£600 to pay, its still a hell of a lot of money for me to pay for a part that is faulty,

I would of liked to push for them to pay for all of it but I couldnt risk losing the offer they made if you get what I'm saying,

I bought the car privately whilst it was out of warranty and I'm the third owner, which I thought might of gone against any claim, but its got fssh and only 29k on the clock.

I'll let you know how the repair goes,

Mike

in a thread recently there was talk of reporting this to VOSA as a defect to see if it will make Skoda (and VAG) instigate a recall - seems to be a common fault across the VAG range for this to go and obviosuly has potential safety implications

I'm getting a little concerned after reading the posts on this forum where owners are experiencing faults with their Skoda's. I'm beginning to wonder if I've bought a reliable car or not.

However I know it's in the nature of forums to share experiences of things that go wrong and it doesn't necessarily indicate that they're representitative of all owners cars. I think it might be worth investigating extended warranties though.

With this case regarding ABS as an example I wonder if it would be possible to have a particular area of the forum which would collate common faults rather than them just being posted randomly, possibly in more than one thread. This would help to indicate if there was a pattern and it may make it possible to use as evidence when requesting repairs, particularly when out of warranty, at the dealers when they say they've never known it to happen before.

I have had a report back from my garage about my esp fault and the diagnostic report says 03- brake electronics

1k0907379aa

esp front mk60 h130102

coding 19073

in the box below it says

01435 012

brake pressure sensor 1-g201

electrical malfunction in circuit

Hopefully this will make sense to someone on this site cos I have not got a clue what they are talking about
