Superb Elegance CR 170 DSG - 2WD or 4WD

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I am new to Skoda by virtue of being at the threshold of becoming a Skoda owner for the first time ever after being impressed by a test-drive in a Superb Elegance 2.0 CR TDI 170 DSG, accompanied by a 'why-do-you-want-a-joke-Skoda-car' wife who was bowled over by the drive.

Being a car enthusiast and having owned a VW VR6 , I narrowed my choice to the Elegance 3.6 4WD and the CR TDI 170 DSG. We already have a V6 Murano so the economical 170 should be a sensible replacement for my Renaultsport.

Although I have not test-driven the 3.6 4WD or the CR 170-4WD, can anyone please tell me if I would lose out in either the performance/economy or the winter traction stakes, for if the latter were the case, I would go for the 170-4WD with DSG and disregard the latter.

My wife's only stipulation is that it must be a black car with ivory upholstery and wood trim!

By the way, we found the Park Assist fantastic for not that much money, but doubt if the novelty would prove enduring! We didn't have the chance to try out the Hill Hold in the demonstrator though.

Thank you in anticipation!

Park Assist has gotta be the ultimate show off toy?! ;)

You might be best asking about the 4WD in the Superb II forum here

Hello :)

Great choice...Enjoy and welcome!

Welcome... great choice. Stunning cars!

I'm pretty sure the CR170 4WD isn't available with a DSG box as it is mounted the other way round to the V6.
