Featured Replies

Hi all ,

I'm thinking about getting my VRS mapped in the near furture and i was wondering :

What map have you gone for?

How has it changed your car?

Whats the performance like (eg cars you can stay with etc)

Don't know if mine is remapped as bought it described as standard. Has kept with z4 3.0 and slightly quicker than wrx, seat leon fr, and mk4 r32. Impressive if 'standard'

Even with a remap to keep up with a Z4 is impressive and to be quicker than a WRX and R32 is very impressive. Are you sure they were going for it as a WRX is considerbly quicker in all aspects.

I'd be popping the bonnet and having a good look at the engine if that was me, it will have more than just a remap if it can keep ahead of those kind of motors.

Its either heavily modified or the other drivers are grannies

well - i bought it from awesome gti - perhaps someone there will know what has been done to the engine as they replaced it as the original suffered oil pump failure. It was described as standard and whole car looks standard. Re the cars mentioned, the wrx was tailgating me of sorts which egged me 'go for it' lol - i did and the lights were ever so slightly falling away from me.this happened twice, however he took great delight when he came next to me at the lights to show me how good they are from a standing start. the r32 was my mates and i was surprised at the performance. the z4 came screaming round a roundabout and was slowly gaining on me on the straight afterwards. the fr seat leon was again slightly surprising/slow but knew he was going for it as i was playing with him from chester to llandudno of the a55. i must get it rolling roaded, but 25mpg should tell a story, most i get is 31 and thats driving very slowly. light throttle etc in all gears.....before I get slammed for racing. roads were fairly empty and i didn't buy a vrs to drive slowly all the time.

The mpg sounds like a remap but with that kind of performance I would've thought it'd have a turbo back exhaust and some inlet mods as well.

I'd be a bit concerned if I'd bought it having been told it was standard as I know how much my bl**dy insurance would go up! :(

I've driven nothing with similar power to compare It with I don't think. Must find out what's it's running. Maybe people in other cars were revving them properly. Oh I don't know Ha. It whistles alot but just guess that was boost leak.... Which would reduce performance would it not?
