Coil 3 has just failed on mine and AA man says that the part he has in his wagon is for an a4 and therefore only suitable to get me home? Is he correct? I thought they were all the same? Somebody please help quickly before he leaves me stuck at home with no ignotion coil!!

I meant Audi A4 sorry!!

As far as im aware mate if its for the 18t A4 then its the same

OK. I have now spoken to the AA man in more depth, it turns out that the part he fitted to "get my wife home" was not a genuine part and therefore the part numbers listed for this particular manufacturer does not match the one for a Skoda. Although it seemed to work absolutely fine! I now have to go to the VW dealer or the Audi one down the road to get a replacement one and fit it myself! Although I did get him to put the coil from number 2 into the broken slot (number 3) that way I don't have to get the spanners out in the morning!!
