cruise control

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 56 plate vrs i want to get cruise control fitted.I have had a look at the search and seen some places that will fit it.

Does any one have any recommedation of somewhere close to either london or norwich.

Robinsons have quoted £180 for the work. I notice about 140 seems the going rate.

I dont mind where it gets done i just want a good job at a fair price.

So any help would be great.

thanks

dave

Speak to vRSTU, he is the man to speak to for all things cruise control related.

Cost of the kit is about £65 but on some models you will require a steering wheel control unit. If a dealer has quoted £180 all in, regardless of whether a new control unit is required, do it ! !

If they come back to you and say they want more for a control uit, hold them to the origional quote. Takes about 45 mins to fit and code so 1hr maximum labour should do it.

Of all the ones I've fitted, '56 plate will probably require a new unit.

I heard practically all, if not all Vrs models come with the correct control unit. My 07 plate did and it wasn't brain surgery to fit either.

When Stu fitted Cruise Control to my 56 vRS it didn't require the new control unit.

VRstu fitted cruise control to my 56 plate Ambiente on Saturday 3rd. October for his website advertised price of £160.

He also cleared a few faults and got my nearside rear foglight working too after a dealer tried and said it couldn't be done.

Stu is your man, if he doesn't know I bet he knows a man who does.

The controller was already present on my car it needed the replacement steering column stalk and activating through VagCom.
