How to remove swirl marks

Featured Replies

Just got car back from body shop and noticed the that on the roof threre are alot of swirl marks where they have ploished the repair. It looks a mess what options do I have in removing them? Don't want to use a polishing machine as I'm frightened of making it worse. Might have to contact baker21 to perform his magic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've a Dual Action Polisher, i've polished my car with it a few times and not experienced any problems.

Personally i wouldn't touch it for a couple of weeks until your entirely certain the paint/clear coat has hardened.

Out of interest, who did the repair work for you?

thanks for that, just car clinic did the repair work after we have had it vandilised on going saga with the repair works been back three times to sort it out. Not impressed!!!

Bloody hell!

I know how frustrating it can be, i've had a few issues with my car and garages. And i've deemed it necessary to now sort any underlying problems myself.

As i've given a tyre fitter/wheel alignment/exhaust centre 5 attempts to do tracking work to my car 3 attempts being a 4 wheel geo inc camber values.

To find out that one rear wheel is stuck out further than the other, causing it to catch the arch liner in bends.

I've seen swirl marks removed by hand but the process is very long and doesn't beat DA polisher.

If you can afford it Baker21 seems the best bet as his work seem top dollar! :D

Has the repair been done through your insurance? After that many chances, I think I'd be insisting the car was sent to another bodyshop to have the repair carried out properly.

Any pics?

Always a difficult one with bodyship repair, some will perform the repair to a very high level and others won't, problem you will have is if you get the panel repaired re-corrected then the rest of the car may look a little dull..........:o

How old is the car and how many miles?

As Ben has said, you got any pics of the repair in question?
