my logbook states my vrs is a tdi ambiente

Featured Replies

Hi guys need some advice as stated above my logbook states my 2001 vrs is a ambiente tdi . I have spoken to the garage that originally sold the car from new and they have in there records that it is a ambient, but they then searched skoda own system and it states that it is definitely a vrs the vin numbers all checkout so i am at a loss as to why .

I sent a covering letter to dvla to ask them to change the model spec but it has come back as the tdi again .

I am in no doubt that this is a genuine vrs as i have every bit of main dealer service history from new . any idears ?

I worked for Skoda when the VRS was launched and loads came through as Ambiente models!!!

Most Skoda dealers had exactly the same so will be aware of how to rectify the issue (i cant remember exactly what happened now....)

Most of them came through like that, including mine. A sharp eyed British customs officer at Calais spotted mine came up wrong on ANPR -but he had a VRs, so knew it was a **** up at the DVLA, who had no record of the VRs model existing. He told me what was wrong, and said I'd better get it sorted, or I'd be pulled every time I went through the tunnel (and every time I went through Police ANPR)

The DVLA sorted it out, no problem.

Not another one!

I just got a letter today from Skoda UK (email [email protected]) (I scanned my V5 in due to the postal strike) or phone (0845 7745 75, I spoke to Dan, he'll probably hate me for putting everyone with dodgy V5's on to him lol) their Customer Services was impeccable.

Send the letter plus V5 back to DVLA and write on the V5 where it needs to be corrected

Thank you all for your help:)

This happened a lot with the early fabia vRS too - down as comfort TDIs often.
