How do i get to the handbrake adjusters. Cant find it in my haynes book.

Its a 2000 Octavia 1.6 SLX

Are you saying it doesn't look like yours because pic shows discs and you have drums?

Page 9.15 section 17.

Handbrake should be on between 4 and 7 clicks,if not adjust.

Apply lever 4 clicks,chock front wheels and raise rear.Brakes should be just dragging.

Adjuster is under central consol,remove rear part as section 11.27(page 11.21) or some models just require removal of rear ash tray.Adjust cable so dragging at 4 clicks and turns free when off.

There is a pic of center consol with rear part removed,top right of page 9.15

I know it's a Haynes,but it's all there,words not pics.:)

I only bought it to find a relay,THAT was a waste of time.:(
