Help cruise control stopped working

Featured Replies

Could anyone give me any points on where to start on getting it working please. I cant seem to find the fuse for it because its not listed in the book. or maybe just the beer goggles cant focus properly!! Was working fine yesterday but now just stopped working. Thanks:confused:

VAG-COM or similar cable needed, check error codes and that all cc-related switches work (clutch, brake, and of course cruise control switch on the indicator stalk).

The most likely reason is failure of the flex connection to cruise control switch on the indicator stalk. You need to get a new stalk for this, it is an updated design. You also need to take off the steering wheel to retrofit this, this is relatively easy, 12pt key required but you have to be careful around the airbag.

I had mine fail after 3 years, replaced stalk with an updated version and no problems since.

Most likely cause is the brake light switch though isn't it?

These fail quite regularly and will stop your cruise control from working.

funny you should mention this as the brake lights stuck on the day before when the keys were out, but worked fine after she was restarted and the brake lights did not stay on. If it was this dont you have to get the switch coded to the car or did i just dream this up?

Just replace the brake light switch. I suspect currently your brake lights are not working at all.
