Engine Cover Rattle

Featured Replies

When the engine is at idle the skoda badge on the engine cover vibrates making the car sound more like a bag of nails than it really is. You press the badge and it stops.

Of course I can and have removerd the black flap with the badge attached. However before I try glue or sealant under the badge, Has anyone got any other ideas or fixes?

I know its just a silly thing but I would like to attact the badge back to the cover.

The black rectangle with the badge on can be unclipped but it’s a bit awkward. To avoid causing damage to the clips you really need to pull the soundproofing away on the underside to gain access to the back of the badge...Which means then finding a suitable, heat-proof glue to put the soundproofing back.

You could take the badge off and put a thin layer of foam between it and the cover before reassembling it. I would probably just put a few dabs of silicone between the two to be honest.... Or even try injecting some from the holes on the underside (where the clips are - it'll make sense if you look)

if it's loose prise it up with a flatblade and shove some good glue under, press down and leave to harden.
