Just finished installing HU, amplifier, speakers and sub on my 2004 1.8T Octavia. After finishing the work I now have the airbag light on. Is there something I could have done to cause this or is it just a coincidence? I had the glovebix out and I dismantled the passenger side airbag on/off swotch but it's been put back together the right way and the airbag off light by the mirror seems to work ok. Any ideas how to get rid of that annoying light?

You didn't happen to turn the ignition on whilst the airbag switch was disconnected did you?

I managed to do this to my car after valeting the inside, i left the windows down to help it dry out. At that point I was fixing a broken dash vent and had the glovebox and airbag switch out. I turned the ignition on to put the windows up as it started raining. Not realising the switch was disconnected still, which in turn threw up the Airbag light.

You will need someone with VAG-COM/VCDS or a compatible tool that can access and clear the codes.
