Hi - Potential Repeat Skoda Owner...

Featured Replies

Hi

Returning after an absence of a few years. Used to run a 1.4 Fabia Classic Estate. Really liked it - quality unpretentious transport. After a few years running a Focus Estate which replaced both the Fabia and another car when my kids arrived, I've now arrived at the point where I can get a company car or cash allowance. Have long fancied a VRS Octavia or even a 1.8FSI Elegance, and could get one on the company scheme, but probably would make more sense to take the cash and buy one myself.

Would I be crazy turning down a company Audi A3, A4, BMW 3 series or similar to buy my own Octavia? Would be interested in any opinions (even though I'm sure you're all healthily biased!!)

Cheers!

Welcome aboard! :)

...in my unbiased opinion, go for a Skoda! :D

Well I did ask a stupid question... :)

I'd use the company scheme, depending on how many miles you travel etc for the fuel element (if you get it) and don't forget any maintenance costs are not paid for by you, so a saving there, also you don't have to worry about depreciation either.

My wife has been given a company car and the difference in the costs for her versus paying for her own car are about £100 saving each month (mostly fuel costs).

I am not Biased at all, if I had the choice, I'd look at the various monthly costs for each car, but seeing how it's a company vehicle, I'd have the Audi A4, but if I were buying it myself than I would have the Skoda straight away (value for money, cost etc)

Hope this helps,

Ben
