Hi I've recently bought a new Octavia 1.6 CR TDi Estate and am pretty happy so far...

The engine has been a revelation, was a bit worried it would be underpowered but its surprised me at how well it goes, and extremely quiet and economical!

I have had a couple of glitches which the dealer took a while to fix, which has peeved me off a bit, but on the whole I'm very happy with the car itself.

I've joined the forum so that any other glitches I can discuss before bothering with the hassle of dealers in future... so I'm going to post a question on the Octavia forum about misted up windscreens in a minute, it really is quite a problem so I'm hoping I'm either not alone or there's a perfectly decent solution.

low battery indicated remove battery check voltage if 3v clean battery around the area where the contacts touch and the contacts also isopropal will do refit battery will save a new one

Have come to use the A/C for the first time this past week and noticed that pressing the button for the recirculating air doesn’t appear to work. Button presses but nothing happens it doesn’t light up and stays off Also through the media center doesn’t do anything, wondering if anyone has come across this before? Or is it a trip to Skoda?

Hi all, finally got around to getting some new shoes ordered for the girl. I'm getting a set of Hankook Ventus Evo K137 235/45 ZR18 98Y XL put onto the Pegasus alloys. I was considering changing out the locking wheel nut for just a regular nut? Which then prompted the second question, I picked up a set of Alcar 9021 17inch Steelies for Winter Tyres, do I need to run seperate nuts due to the alloy v steel nature? What it says on the tin, really; recently my oil warning light came on, flashed a few times, made a really loud intermittent beeping sound, and then turned off again. This happened several times during a journey, but actually stopped after a little while. I checked the oil level, and its fine, so I reckon it's an issue with the oil pressure sensor/switch (I did get an OBD tool, but that came up as no error codes, so I'm really in the dark here).
