I am changing my fabia (1.4 8v) for a Fabia vRS, the question is as follows...

I put a Clarion headset, with the aerial amp and plastic surround needed into my existing car a year or so ago, and the sound quality (with std speakers) to me is great. The model is a DXZ428R, wasnt particularly expensive, and its 50w*4.

Is this headset likely to be better quality than the Symphony unit in the vRS ? Is the power output similar ?

Secondly, silly question coming.... how easy is it to remove the head unit, surround and aerial amp ? (I got a local place to fit it for me).

Yeah, the Symphony is pretty wimpy - swap it out for Clarion...

The surround should just be clipped on IIRC. The aerial amp might well be part of a wiring loom adapter (depending on how it was installed), but it just plugs into the back of the headunit so should also be easy to remove. Not too sure about how Clarion's generally are fitted, so it might have a release mechanism, or you might need to use some forceful persuasion...
