VRS Aerial

Featured Replies

Awaiting delivery of FL VRS Estate and I'm not to taken with the roof mounted ariel. Am I right in thinking that the small triangular shape ariel, as on my current Audi, is referred to as a shark fin?

If so can i get a colour coded one for the VRS and will it affect the performance of the radio and bluetooth system?

Where can I get a good quality one and how much should it cost.

Few questions there but any advice gratefully received, thanks

The thing to watch for is the shark fin may only be for GSM & GPS

FM may be an embedded aeriel in one of the window glasses.

Whereas you're Octy's aeriel is for FM

Thanks

I believe my Audi has an ariel built into the glass. What options do I have?

Shorter mast!

Looks pretty good! Just a few questions:

1) Does it affect your FM reception at all?

2) How much was it?

3) where can you get them from?

4) How easy are they to fit?

Sorry for all the questions, but if I don't ask them, I'm sure someone else will! :)

Hi Karlos

1. FM Reception is Fine

2. It's Not Cheap £36.64 (INC VAT)

3. From VW Parts at Local Dealers

4. The actual aerial is a sinch to swap over, (1 Nut) but it's a bit of a pain dropping the head lining and removing the Boot Trim..

Definatley get your self a set of trim tools

Thanks for the pics, think I might invest in one

Bandit 1, If I'm not mistaken didn't you order through Rainsworth. Mine was build week 48 but haven't heard anything about delivery.

Having said that I wasn't fussed about getting it till new year. Still I'd like to know it's here and maybe get them to fit the aeriel and headlight bulbs before collection.

I know, I know but when it comes to all things mechanical I couldn't find my a**e with both hands.

Yes I Did, I am collecting it tomorrow, I drove past yesterday & there is about 4 or 5 vRS's in the compound waiting to be PDI'd, , Race Blue saloons & estates, Silver estates, white saloons I think, could one of them be yours ? They have a scary amount of cars going out this month.

Looks very good. Much better than the outdated aerial in the car. Do you mind explaining in more detail what the whole fitting entailed. i.e. for a non technical person, why do you have to remove the boot trim etc.

Recently built Superb's apparently have this shark fin antenna as well .I've seen two new ones we received last week here at work and all they have is the swing radio,no GPS's.I assume they are compatible on an Octavia...Maybe they will be fitted on Octy's at a later stage as well ...
