Anyone heard of or used Eclipse of Sunderland?

Featured Replies

Getting 'A deal' by Eclipse, my mates new vRS petrol and my 170 cr, remapped for £250 each and a deal with window tinting.

Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences of them? They seem friendly and knowledgable? Anyone?

im a big fan of the ancient art of buy nice or buy twice.Yes that is a cheap remap, but what experience and proof has he shown of his knowledge of the engine. Before i buy anything for my car i always trawl the forums for a review from someone on the product, if they are unknown and i can t find a review then there is no way i would splash out the cash.

theres a discount on shark performance in the group buy section, where he is selling his map plus the STS handset(meaning you can do it at home at your own leisure, and read fault codes etc without going to a garage(a massive plus for me)) thats a £200 pound discount on the normal price until 31 dec.

dan_the_v8man has had both of those engines in the last few months both of which he had mapped by shark in stage 1 guise and he rates them highly, review of both here http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/145776-shark-peformance-tfsi-and-pd-review/page__p__1824095__hl__shark%20performance__fromsearch__1entry1824095

alternatively id reccomend REVO but they are a lot more expensove and also require a trip to your nearest dealer.

any linkies for ths eclipse. what are they saying they can do etc.

Guy says he can get 220bhp from the cr170, with air filter and remap and 240bhp for the petrol vRS. There is a discounted rate, because of the festive time! But as there are two of us interested in a map, then we negotiated a deal.

Audi, Bentley, BMW, Crysler, Citroen, Daewoo, Ferrari,Fiat,Ford,Honda,Hyundai,Jaguar,Jeep,Kia,lancia,Land Rover, Lotus,Mazda, Mercedes, MG, Mini Mitsubishi,Nissan, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Rover, Saab, Seat, Skoda ,Smart, Subaru, Ssang Yong, Suzuki, Toyota, Vauxhall, Volvo, Volkswagon

thats a lot of cars to be a specialist at in my opinion. 240bhp fpor a TFSI seems a reasonable claim, not to sure about the cr170 as im a petrol head not derv head,

after my experience with bluefin ill never go for anything non-Vag again,

plenty of people have got some of these bargain maps and have been happy with them, so id guess theres no reason you wouldnt be, but ive not seen the proof of the pudding, so my opinion is to only use Vag specific tuners only when it comes to mapping, unless you have seen the results off someone else using them with the same engine.

He came recommended by the Skoda dealership my mate bought his vRS from! That's where we got his number from!

I like the sts, just a bit much at the mo! Don't get me wrong, looks awesome and a good price, just two little ones to pay for the visit of Santa!

Maybe the worst Subaru garage in the world

check out

http://bbs.scoobynet...earchid=7330877 (search eclipse or de-eclipse)

Tyne tees subaru forums etc

Made my car worse than when it went in, and charge you lots.

£1400 for 400ft/lbs clutch, flywheel and timing belt - clutch failed 2x in 2 months, timing belt almost worn through after 2 months due to incorrect fitting, loads of problems.

Then their 'full warranty' becomes manfacturers warranty and you need to pay the tow truck to get your broken down car back to them...

Presently checking with Exedy to confirm they are genuine and none-ebay parts.

I walked away from £1400 because I wouldn't trust them to inflate my tyres and I'm not going to build a 400bhp subaru and think there may be bits like this inside

http://www.PictureTrail.com/eclipse-quality-work

The damage bellhousing and pulleys are from a car that has been SORN for 9 months and went to Eclipse for clutch and Timing belt work - look where the bright un-rusty metal is.....
