Help.....Flashing red lights

Featured Replies

Hello those who know all, Im having a few problems, a week ago I had an intermittent red flashing oil light which by looking on here indicates an oil pressure problem. Went to garage and took oil sensor off replaced with a mechanical gauge but light still came on whilst no change in oil pressure (25-30psi). Any help with this would be great as it doesnt indicate a sensor fault if its not there. Also my temp/coolant light flashes red on start up this has been when outside temp is around -4 to -7C. Please help as its driving me mad.

Many thanks in advance.

The coolant sensor can be either cured with a new expansion tank, or the cheaper solution is to rub the bubbles off the two prongs (ie. the level sensor). The bubbles cause the sensor to think the level is lower than it is. Use something like a long screwdriver poked in through the top.

Low oil pressure could be the common issue of a blocked strainer on the oil pick up pipe. Fairly easy job to do, just remove sump and you can then get straight at it and I think the pick up itself is less than a tenner.
