New VRS...First aid Kit & warning triangle ?

Featured Replies

5 days after picking up my new VRS TDI Estate I finally got round to checking the boot and noticed that there's no First aid kit or warning triangle in the compartment to the offside of the boot.....I've looked in the owners manual and it states that is where they should be.... The Octavia brochure doesn't say whether they come as standard or not....Any ideas ?

Dont think those are standard items, I bought mine from the dealers :smirk:

Second that - probably not standard.

Anything mentioned in the owner's handbook that isn't standard is marked with an asterisk: Thus: "First-aid box* and warning triangle*"

To quote my manual:

"Note

• Equipment which is marked * is only standard on certain vehicle model

versions or only suppliable as optional equipment for certain models."

Mine didn't come with one so I bought a kit on ebay. Came with a genuine VW/Audi triangle and case, first aid kit and two hig vis for about £20.

First aid kit and warning triangle are not standard on any Octy/Yeti/Fabia/Superb sold in the UK, this is because in the UK they are not required.

Yup,

I was told they are removed when the cars arrive here so that the dealers can resell them!

When I picked up my VRS, the straps were freshly undone, when I asked about it I was *very* promptly told I could buy the (still warm) triangle for £9.95, or IIRC the triangle and medi kit for £29.

Luckily I had exactly the same issue when I picked up my Fabia VRS a couple of years back and have my own kit now, complete with kendal mint cake and space blanket ;)

Ah so that was why mine didn't come with them. I just thought the previous owner pinched them! I looked at getting them replaced but they wanted a stupid amount of money for them, the first aid kit was a bit lacking anyway - you can get much more comprehensive kits from halfords for half the price.
