hello im new here! my 2004 tdi 110bhp asv mk1 starts fine then if you stop after a short distance and restart it coughs and judders and wont rev? then restart and its fine? any ideas? ive had the turbo vanes done and egr blanked off ran fine like this for nearly a year? many thanks. jonny! also put new egr valve and n75 valve on when i had turbo and inlet cleaned.

Have you checked the MAF ?

ive also put new maf on. doesnt do it all the time just when it feels like it?

Temperature sensor is worth checking and if that continues, then take it up a derv injection specialist and ask them to give the fuel injection pump a once over and possibly change the temp sensor in that.

It needs to be a derv injection specialist and not a normal garage, as most places will tell you it needs a new fuel injection pump if this is the issue.

Also worth checking the spray pattern from the injectors as they can tend to go a bit off after about 80k miles, and so a clean or new nozzles would sort this.

Agreed, particularly the note about using a DERV specialist, and not a Skoda dealer. Start by checking your local Yellow Pages for Bosch Diesel or TurnerTune places.
