Featured Replies

got a price 4 a new car and they were pushing me to get gap insurance and safe guard,

is it worth getting?or just a way of getting more cash off u???????????

many thanks folks

Shop around on the net for GAP insurance as it's usually half the price. As for Safeguard, it's doesn't protect your paint from chips, if that it what you want it for. It does however maintain a shiny finish so if your not the type who likes to polish a car then might be worth having.

The whole kit costs less than £50 to the trade, with an hour or so labour by the PDI shop.

With both items, the dealer makes a healthy profit and you can protect your interior just as well with a £10 can of Scotchguard....

I think GAP insurance is worth it for piece of mind, but don't accept the dealers first offer. You can normally save about 50% by shopping around.

The safe guard, is that the paint protection and interior stuff (SupaGuard)? If it is, you can buy a kit off ebay for less than £30 and do it for yourself. If you don't want to do it for yourself, add about an hours labour to that £30 and see if the dealer will do it for that price.

I paid 127 quid for gap insurance on ym new car from click4gap.com (suggested by compare.com) also found that quidco.com gives you cashback via them, or so they say, havent seen it yet but hey ho :)

I got diamondbrite from a deal on the web and did my car, made a lovely job of the paintwork.
