Can You Fit Any Window Motor?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Recently my nearside rear window motor failed, the regulator itself is fine, its just the motor. I cannot seem to find at the moment any motors for the nearside rear door but I can find motors for the front and offiside front and rear doors, can I just use one of those motors? Its for an Octavia Mk1. I am just wondering if there is any difference between the motors and whether they are the same motor in each door or different. As I said, the regulator is tip top its just the motor.

Thanks

Jon

The motors are different in each door, also there is more than one part number for the Octavia I. The motor is combined with the door control unit and there are software differences depending on the car model. Before replacing the motor, check the door wiring loom carefully as the wires do corrode and break, especially where they go into the B post.

Thanks fordfan I feared that would be the case, the motor is broken, as in two parts, the case is cracked but the regulator is ok.

Thanks for the advice

Jon
