ESP

Would someone more technically literate than me answer the following question please?

If the ESP is operative when driving in snow on an incline, does it also govern the engine speed while controlling traction?

TCS (Traction Control System) will use ABS brake system and govern engine speed to control traction where grip is poor while pulling away.

ESP (Electronic Stability Program) is designed to reduce the possibility of skidding such as entering a corner to fast, uses the ABS brake system to achieve this. ESP is known as an Active Safety system as opposed to an Air-bag which is a Passive Safety System.

Until recently the ESP switch on the dashboard could be used to switch off both TCS & ESP

Skoda cars built from late 2009 only the TCS will be turned off with this switch (think new system switch has replaced ESP for the TCS symbol)

Hope that helps,

TP

I thought I had said "thanks" but it doesn't seem to show. I do so again.
